rCOMSDEP Staff Heed To President’s Sanitation Directive

In alignment with the newly launched national sanitation initiative, the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skill Development Program (rCOMSDEP) conducted a comprehensive cleanup exercise at its corporate headquarters early Friday morning.
The initiative follows an announcement by the President earlier this week designating Friday and Saturday as National Sanitation Days. The directive aims to raise public awareness, instill a permanent culture of cleanliness among citizens, and mitigate the risk of waterborne and infectious diseases following the recent devastating floods across the country.

Leadership by Example

Ms. Mawusi Mawuenyefia, the National Coordinator of rCOMSDEP, heeded the presidential call by personally leading her staff in cleaning both the interior and exterior of the office compound.
The exercise was marked by high energy, strong workplace cohesion, and high morale, with staff members actively participating throughout the morning.

“I think this should be done at least every quarter. We must embrace the culture of taking responsibility for our immediate environment.” She suggested.

A Commitment to Sustainability

Addressing the team after the exercise, Ms. Mawuenyefia commended the staff for their dedication and pledged to make the cleanup a regular fixture on the organization’s calendar. She emphasized that maintaining a clean environment is crucial to preventing the health crises that often follow severe flooding.

Speaking on behalf of the workforce, staff representative Sabastine Baidoo expressed gratitude to Ms. Mawuenyefia and the management team for spearheading the civic exercise, noting that the initiative has set a positive precedent for corporate responsibility in the community.
